Precautions to take while protesting

As protests continue across the country, Americans persevere in their efforts to combat police brutality and the unjust American system under which we live. That being said, protesting in today’s time has become a more complex act as digital surveillance, the spread of covid-19, and police sanctioned weapons have transformed peaceful marches into a hostile environment. The following will cover the essential preparations to take before and during a protest. The most important protesting advice to understand is to be prepared and organized when protesting. Be mindful that we continue to be in a Pandemic of Covid-19 and as such we are still responsible for each other's well being. If you are feeling unwell do not go out and participate in a protest. Be aware of drones and security cameras in your area as law enforcement use the collected footage to identify and ultimately retaliate against protestors. And finally when confrontation with police is inevitable it is important to have an exit plan because anything is possible. At these moments is where protective eyewear such as goggles & first aid kits become crucial items to have within reach.
